How many owners have never bothered to check their oil because it is a pain in the ass? I know that engine location isn't exclusive to these vans, but I've never seen another requiring removal of the console. Was there at least an oil level warning light in these?

Hmm, rather a faff for a dipstick, I think id rather open the bonnet.

Is it safe to have an engine so close to the passengers? What if the engine blows, will you get a valve in your forehead? Also, any lose exhaust gas at manifold is more likely to get into the cockpit?- I'm just thinking of older Bongos?
Also, is there a heat issue in the cockpit/do you have a permanently heated passenger seat?

some people would never find this! so nice to know your bongo has proberbly never had its oil checked and has often run low inbetween services

why would i have 2 dipsticks on my bongo. one under the passenger seat and one under the drivers seat? any help would be great. thank you

lol or i can just pull the latch on the truck and reach for the dipstick XD
The dipstick under the drivers seat is for the gear box.
