The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) is the tenth film in the James Bond series, and the third to star Roger Moore asJames Bond. It was directed by Lewis Gilbert and the screenplay was written by Christopher Wood and Richard Maibaum. The film takes its title from the tenth novel in Ian Fleming's James Bond series, though as Ian Fleming requested that only the title of the novel be used, the film does not contain any elements of the novel The Spy Who Loved Me. The storyline involves a reclusive megalomaniac named Stromberg who plans to destroy the world and create a new civilisation under the sea. Bond teams up with a Russian agent Anya Amasova to stop Stromberg.

Here we can see the opening shots from the film as Bond puts Britain before the girl he is with - just as well as it turns out she is a Soviet agent!

The Bond '77 theme is in my opinion one of the best used in any film.

My channel on you tube : http://www.youtube.com/alanheath is one of the most prolific from Poland. I have produced a number of films, most in English but also in Polish, French, Italian, Spanish and the occasional hint of German and Hebrew. My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects

  • It might be crap now, but i saw this as a little kid with my parents and we all had a great night out; which i think is the main point. Thanks Rodger..

  • @harryc1971 I have had many great nights in watching this since 1977 when it cost me 50p to get into the cinema to watch it. I had to go shovelling snow to pay for it!
