I don't like tutorials telling you to download something first. What's the point in teaching people something when you ask them to download half of it first? Besides, things like that can be tought on a single page that can be read in 2 minutes instead of babbling along for a quarter hour.

@Parz1fal It's so you have the area that the progress bar is supposed to fit into so that you can follow along with the tutorial. The downloaded project doesn't have the progress bar already made for you.

Have you seen other tutorials out there? They point you to a pre-made file and don't even care to explain it to you. The Tutvid guy just provides the nonessential elements pre-made so one can follow along.

I agree with you somewhat, but at least he gets the job done.
