"Chasing Gaga" premiers Sunday, February 5 at 9/8c on TV Guide Network.

Best-selling author and celebrity journalist Ian Halperin takes an inside look at Lady Gaga's career from her humble beginnings playing New York's Lower East Side dive bars to sold out stadium concerts around the world. "Chasing Gaga" examines the meteoric -- and sometimes controversial -- rise to stardom of the first lady of pop. Ian speaks to key people who have followed her career from the beginning including book publisher Judith Regan, nightclub promoters, radio producers, fashion photographers and members of her original band. With her eccentric outfits and outlandish hairstyles and make-up, her quick rise to fame has inspired millions of "Little Monsters" to express themselves, but also drawn skepticism from critics and fellow musicians who have accused her of "borrowing" from the likes of Madonna, David Bowie and Bette Midler.

  • mean that they'll be popular 20 years from now. alot of the supposed modern music that is played by the corporate slave masters on the radio sucks; there's still some good stuff out there, but it doesn't get played, because the suites dont like it. the trolls at this network and the arrogant corporate radio heads want to make everyone in society into unthinking, comformists who dont critically think about life, society, etc.

  • never have as good a catalogue as elvis, madonna, michael jackson, ray charles, metallica, etc. that's not including non-American acts such as the beatles, led zeppelin, pink floyd, the rolling stones, the clash, etc. there are acts who have had lesser careers than those mentioned above who have better music catalogues than gaga. it is just such a pthetic act to have this network try and shove this bowl of mediocrity down our collective throats. just because here songs are popular now, doesn't

  • i cant believe that tv guide channel actually made a special about her. this network said that she's a good actress, how? she hasn't acted in anything, and if her acting is like her music, she's not that good. another audacious thing said was that when she's done, she may have the gratest music catalogue in American history. excuse me! 1st off, nobody can see into the future, who knows, this may be her last album, she may never have another hit. 2nd off, even if she has more "hits", she will

  • i hate the comparison of madonna to lady gaga because there is no comparison in my opinion. gaga has a couple good songs, but she always goes over the top with her fashion, which just contributes to the recent phenomenon of image over music, which is a sad sign of our times. gaga is like the kid in school who's constantly seeking attention, it gets annoying. also, she seems full of herself and pretentious, the way she talks is phony, like she's trying to have an artsy, intellectual accent.
