@singchooi I am just a lubber (I love that 'Sea Talk', hehehe) I would guess to buy in accord with the weight of your ship. 1 lbs boat? Get 3 lb shot of the largest size to fit and permit equal distribution.

Dear vazrules,
I'm a true sailboat owner and navigator and now I bought a Surmount and a Moonson rc saillboats. I need your help because I don't know what type of bateries I may use into the boat. Can I use a plastic box with 4 bateries type AA with 1,5 v ? Or I must use the same bateries that we use at the eletric rc planes?

Hi, I have used 2S LiPo and a BEC [voltage regulator].
The sail winch servo is faster with 6V. 4x rechargeable battery with the plastic box is only 4,8V.
In my gas powered planes I'm using 2S A123 connected directly to the servos, but I didn't try this in the sailboat. [I sold the boat long time ago]

Hi, sorry I've used a 9 channel Futaba transmitter.
But I think any kind at least 2 channel transmitter, with a receiver will be enough.
