a tribute Delia Derbyshire and the other inspirational members of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop
Lyrics:
When I was young watching TV,
Like other robots at The Academy,
Programmes I watched really influenced me,
Weird sound effects radiophonically,
Sonic heroes of the BBC,
Like Kingsland, Paddy,
Delia D.
Peter Howell, Elizabeth Parker,
All the Workshop laid down a marker,
Brian Hodgson, Daphne Oram,
At Cyber club went down a storm,
Sonic heroes of the BBC,
Like Kingsland, Paddy,
Delia D.
Delia D, Delia D,
Robots dream
Of Thee,
Delia D.
Delias music is rather shocking,
Gets my CPU overclocking,
My circuits hot,
I could blow a transistor,
Musique concrete,
Who can resist her?
Composing music in outer space,
(My) Internal clock,
Locked on Cubase.
From the bottom of my CPU,
Delia D I thank you.
I know you may have passed away,
In my hard drives youll forever play,
Sonic heroes of the BBC,
Like Kingsland, Paddy,
Delia D.
Delia D, Delia D,
Youll always live on in me.
Delia D, Delia D,
Delia D, Delia D,
Sonic heroes of the BBC,
Delia D.
It sounds like something Marge Simpson would compose b/c she thinks that's what the kids like.

@ion010101: Well put. This seems more like the antithesis of her music, rather than a fitting tribute.

This is to Delia D. as the Star Wars Xmas special is to Empire Strikes Back.

@apislapis well your a sonic hero for making this! It sounds very 80s with a 90s beat or something haha (which isn't really my thing normally but because of what it represents it fits so well. Well done! :)

I did this during my Music Tech degree studies to familiarise myself with Cubase SX3; thanks for the comment by the way. I'd been watching the 'alchemists of sound' documentary about the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and was inspired to write something about the 'sonic heroes of the BBC' such as Delia and her magnificent remix of Grainer's theme. It still sounds just as modern today as it did back in the 60s.
