Purple Heart is a song I wrote for my dad, ... my hero, who passed away from complications from the wounds he received in World War II, 45 years earlier. It's a biography of what my family and I suffered as we helplessly watched my father slip away. I dedicate this song to everyone mourning the loss
of a loved one. I hope you find your place of Peace...

  • Dear Billy,

This touching song in memorium has been sent me via alexandraxxxxxx. Although all losses are individual I share with you in yours. It's terribly sad to have lost a loved one, yes - but so very good to have known love, in all it's shades, of that I'm sure. I'm touched! Bless you!

  • Thank you so much for writing this song. It made me cry. My son was injured in Iraq and just had a good friend die in Afghanistan. I feel your lose, and I thank your father for serving his country. I am so very sorry for your families lose and will be embedding it in my Facebook page. Everyone should remember why these men are the foundation of our country and are willing to give their lives so that we can be free!

  • Ahh yes, makes one long for those days made of nothing but happiness, peace, and prosperity. Those days when one no longer need to worry about politics, wars, different religion or race. Yes those days would be nice. However, no matter how much we strive to achieve these goals we never will. To end all the horible things which we humans endure would require us to abandon our humanity. The days that will be made of peace will be the days when we cease to be human. You cannot turn lead into gold.

  • HI there and thanks for the video. I served Echo CO 2/7 Marines from 03 to 07. Iraq three times. I love this country with all my heart and would die for it in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for the video and thanks to your father that gave soo much to this country and to FREEDOM. Its men like him that make freedom real and secure.
