Here is the Beretta Nano! I've done a previous video featuring this handgun, but it was more of a "first impressions." Here, I will go into a bit more depth. But before I get into that, with my last video, I got a ton of feedback. Some of you loved it, some of you hated it. That's totally fine. But one comment that I took to heart was that I didn't really give you guys a good look at the tshirts... So, today I am wearing one of the shirts I designed and will be wearing at SHOT Show (just a few days away now - I'm so excited!). This way, you can get a closer look and give me your feedback on it, if you like. Now, back to the Nano. My disclaimer: there will be no stop motion photography dancing in this video.

This is what it looked like the way Beretta shipped it to me for test and evaluation. I haven't decided whether or not I want to keep it yet. Here's the little hard case. Now, let's see what's inside.

The Nano, as you likely already know, is chambered in 9x19mm Luger (Parabellum) and is a striker fired semi-automatic pistol. It comes with two magazines and the capacity is 6+1. It also has that goofy cable lock I swear almost no one uses...

With the box out of the way, you can get a better look at the gun. (I'm safety checking it straight away.) The first thing that struck me when I pulled it out of the case was the slim profile of it. It's .90in wide and has a smooth surface, with beveled edges and no protrusions (not even a slide release), with the exception of the ambidextrous magazine release. The slide is steel with a black nitride finish, with a loaded chamber indicator, and (interchangeable) three dot sights. The grip frame is technopolymer and can be replaced because it isn't the serialized part of the gun. The serialized part is the steel chassis housed within the grip. I'm going to disassemble the gun so that I can show you that.

To disassemble the Nano, you need a pen, or something similar, to deactivate the striker. Next, I use a penny, but you can also use the end of the magazine or the casing of a spent round, to rotate the disassembly pin one quarter turn. That will pop the slide forward a little bit, and from there you can push the slide forward off the frame. Now you can better see the steel chassis. That can also be removed, but I won't be doing that for this video. Then, you can remove the recoil spring and recoil spring guide rod, and then the barrel, and the Nano is field stripped. It's a pretty simple and easy process, perhaps not quite as quick or simple as say, a Glock, just because you need a pen or other implement, but it's still pretty user friendly.

To give you a basis for size comparison, I have the Beretta Nano next to the SIG SAUER P238. So, you can see that the Nano is pretty compact. That, and the smooth edges make it easily concealable. However, it is a bit heavy, weighing 17.67 oz. unloaded. Overall, I think it's a pretty competitive option for sub compact 9mm pistols in the CCW arena.

Pop Quiz: Take a good look at this rifle, because I want you to give me the name and the manufacturer of it. Can you see it? Check it out now because in a few seconds, it's going to disappear. ...Last chance...

Bye guys :]

  • Not sure what the mystery rifle is but since it's a lever-action I fell immediately in love.

  • nice video. not a fan of the gun...

  • I liked your dancing performance ;-), really!!! but this is still a good vid, even without your safety dance ;-) you are funny !

  • @FMJHollowPoint there isn't a slide release, so I guess you don't hate it? hah

  • The cup is just a spacer Beretta puts in many of their cases to help prevent crush damage.

  • looks like a Winchester model 94

  • What is the Cup In the Baretta Box lower left corner?

  • you need a manicure :p

  • I'll buy 2 PF9's and a few boxes of 9mm ammo for the msrp on the Nano.

  • Winchester 94 is my best guess, based on the feed port.
