Videos from the October 2007 Coffeehouse. Clips include: Ashley and I performing Alanis Morissette's rendition of My Humps, Erica's "Ode to the Post-it Note," and Kelsey, our amazing MC, concluding the event.
Ashley and I had SO much fun doing this, and it is definitely one our favorite songs to do while screwing around on a piano. Oh yea, people to thank:
-Ashley, for being awesome
-Lindsey, for filming
-Alanis Morissette, for making this parody that brilliantly exploits the ridiculousness of pop culture
-Matthew Luke Sandoval, without whom the accompaniment would not exist. I took a bunch of liberties with the piano part, but he showed me the basic verse and the chords via his youtube video. (check him out on youtube/myspace, he's great)
-Whoever said "Just start the effing song" halfway through our impromptu intro. That's what we were going for.
This isn't an exact replica of Alanis Morissette's cover, seeing as we changed a few things around vocally and with the piano, especially Ashley, who did a great job with making the song her own. We like to think of it as "inspired" by Alanis. Enjoy!
So, Spring Awakening, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Alanis/Fergie, what's next? I'm feeling a little something [title of show] Yea? Yea ;-)
LMAO Tears I tell you, that was wonderfully hilarious!
