I remember the old' Horse Ferry' @ 5.30, I never knew why they called it that, cos' it was pulled back & forth mechanically with chains. ' I think'!... an I'm sure that was the wee Stag Street Ferry @ the end. I loved hopping across the Clyde on that wee boat "when I wiz a wee chuckie stane" ! Thanks for posting Jim!... Great memories!

Does anyone know anything about the old castle, or at least part of a castle that was at the bottom of kintra street Govan during the 40's to the 60's. a photo of it would be just great.

Thanks for the memories I remember lots of these scenes.
Can call myself a true Govanite since I fell in the Elder Park pond ( several times ). One time I went in swimming deliberately and managed to cut my hand ( only required one stitch ) but temporary bandage applied by my maw was crimson by the time I got off the bus and nurse at Southern must have thought my hand was severed.
Check out the two videos " old photos Govan " by dutchi07 they are brilliant.
All the best to GHS for Centenary year
