Our 2 year old boston terrier Piper was diagnosed with epilepsy two months before this clip. On a normal basis he would have seizures once every month or so, however this particular night he had seven within 3 hours. We recorded this video for our vet.

  • For everyone who think this dog is in pain and that its owner is evil:

    1) Seizures itself are not painful. It's only dangerous when there are objects around the seizing animal/person that could fall on/hit/injury the animal/person.

    2) Doctors will often ask their patients (vets included) to record the seizure so they can diagnose the type of seizure to help with dosage, meds, etc.

    3) Videos like this help pet owners identify what may be happening to their dog.

So I say THANKS to Z3ROX45.

  • Piper's mom here - Piper is doing well and will be on medication for the rest of his life. He gets blood tests done every 6 months to make sure the Phenobarbitol and Potassium Bromide levels are OK. As far as comforting him when a seizure occurs, the only thing we can do is remove anything in the way that can hurt him. We hug and love on him when the seizing stops. We posted this video only for informative purposes.

  • @ambergotgame Do you know what was causing them? My dog had 5 in one night. I know dogs can have epilepsy but I've always heard of them being spread out. Did the vet ever determine what was causing the cluster seizures? if anything.

  • I read somewhere that a preservative called bht and bha are linked to canines and seizures so I stopped giving my Yorkie pup-peroni and I haven't seen anymore seizuress

  • We also have posted seizure videos for informational purposes. Pipers seizures are very much like our bulldog's. We've been dealing with this for 4 years, and it doesn't get easier. One thing that happened to us when Vegas was seizing...he aspirated on the foam. He was diagnosed with pneumonia..which was more life threatening than the seizures. Good job posting this video. And I think @mstiffsickle is awesome for posting those 3 important points. Panthersman66 is an uneducated idiot.

  • i have a boston and i cried when i watched this to think of my gizmo going through this... i hope piper has wounderful and happy life

  • That's a different seizure, I've never seen one like it.

  • that anit no seizure thats rabies

  • This is heartbreaking that he has to go through that

  • I never knew a dog could have a seizure until about a month ago. My dog had 7 in one night I took her to the emergency vet and within a few hours she was dead. This is a serious thing, I would never want anyone to go thru what my family went thru that night.

  • It's not funny that poor baby

  • Poor thing
