  • lol omfg ! pls stop doing those..things.

i coudlve pwnt the entire "army" if they had fought like that. those metal things, they are swords, not dusters.

  • man this is so shit i cant believe it. you should have used the Nutcracker Theme from Tschaikovsky for music

  • Well each their own, See I just think from your comments that you are a bit of a twat, if you haven't got anything positive to say, don't say anything, or if you are so good with a sword come out to York next year and prove it.

  • Some how doubt you could fight your way out of a paper bag. Great observation noticing that they were swords! With your great knowledge, I presume you would be able to run the 6 foot closing distance between you and the group of people you are fighting, with you sword and not got hit by the at least 5 spears, which the majority of people were using. The reality is the fight is competitive but safe, the swords are real and you can't just fling them around like a idiot. That way you hurt people.

  • For an awesome Viking/Saxon story, try Sigurd's Saga on YouTube!

  • @StueyLestrange Well dane axes have there place, though are not that effective in Regia. I always think safety first. In my time in Regia I have had around 18 concisions, broken my hand 3 times, had a broken upper Mantal and lost one of my front teeth due to someone putting an axe through it. I also have a inch and a half long scar on my forehead where someone sliced his sword through it. The joys of being left handed.

  • Treat a sword like any weapon, it may not look deadly but even a blunt one can crack a skull, break bones etc. You couldent pwn an ant..tell ya what, if you really want to try come to colchester and i'll give you a free lesson, i usually charge but swear you'll eat your words after :p set sail for fail amigo.

  • Why don't you guest an event, just try it. I'm a viking reenactor and yes have Norse blood also (dad) the weapon i use is a danish axe (war/long axe) but i take away shield so dont participate in shield walls etc. It's a good balanced weapon you can trip, cut, pull, hack defend and attack with ease plus they are not expensive to look after either. Try it :) I've gone berserk before lol was told i was too rough..oops..i'd say go for it, dont know if you dont try~Gyrd.

  • I could never do reinactments. I love vikings, and have viking blood in me, but I would go a little hay-wire..... I've sword/spear/ and axe fought with several close friends.... all of which say I tend to get a little "berserk". But I mean, these things are extremely fun to watch. If it were a real battle, I might have fun actually "participating".... mostly cuz, tho I go berserk, I keep my wits on survival. I'll have to give some thought to doing something like this.

  • I can't remember which battle it was meant to be not one of the big ones. The Saxons wanted to get on the front foot from the very beginning, so attacked as fast as possible instead of just forming a shield wall (that is very out of fashion at the moment, partly because it is the first major show of the year and secondly both sides are taking the initiative (the viking left did a boarsnout to achieve the same thing)).
