When you guys were talking about effects in the decision makings from ME1 not being as big. I think the reason why they do not seem as big because they are trying to set up for ME3. Like the your decision for ME1 to save the rachni queen or not does not seem as big in ME2. but if you saved the queen and you *SPOILER* meet up with her (sort of) it dropping a huge hint as to what may happen in ME3 i feel ME2 was trying to set up for the final act in ME3

oh and speaking about comparisons with DAO. i hope they have more party banter like DAO in me3 :P. But there is more character dialogue in missions(which is already on the disc) but because you don't have the recruitment missions you don't get to hear them. i think this was done so players didn't have to constantly swap disc. sadly. (look up 'Mass effect 2 hidden dialogue'.)
oh and Morinth(Samara's daughter that has sex and kills people) is recruitable
