Dr. Ian Rawson, managing director of the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer in central Haiti, delivered the keynote address at Carnegie Mellon's 113th commencement ceremony on May 16, 2010. Dr. Rawson, a longtime Pittsburgh resident and member of the Carnegie Mellon community, talked about the challenges the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer faced in the aftermath of the January 2010 earthquake.

  • He addressed it quite very well.

  • I was in attendance yesterday, and I have to say, I was dubious about how this speech would be -- simply because I hadn't heard of Dr. Rawson. (Bad reason, I know.) But I was very pleasantly surprised! He was wonderful and charming, and he delivered an excellent speech. I was engrossed and moved by his anecdotes, and I love the subtle lesson he imparted. I will certainly be passing this along to friends and family.
