Good job mate. Swagman is an Australian term. Kinda like a homeless guy. Think of a guy who carries everything he owns on his back and wonders around.... I think a swag is a bed that you roll up and carry on your back or horse back.

Pretty much, a swag is basically his bedroll, when he's up an travelling he wraps his equipment up in it. the original or at least the original version of the first verses he plays are called waltzing matilda.
