Die Brücke (The Bridge, 1959) unofficial trailer

Please read description first:

Always wanted to make a trailer for an already finished film, and finally decided to give it a try this weekend with this "alternative trailer" to a lesser-known movie that deserves all the attention it can get, the harrowing German anti-war film "Die Brücke" (The Bridge).

Since the original language is German I wanted to make the trailer with as little dialogue as possible. Also wanted to try something different and have no musical score over it (yes, that IS the sound of marching soldiers in the background).

The film is based on the true story of a group of boys only days before the end of World War II. One of the many dreadful things that took place as a result of Hitler's sick dream.

Hope it doesn't bore the heck out of my friends who expected silly pranks from Froggy =P

It was a great war movie with a great anti-war message inside..

And it was a great idea to try something different using the sound of marching boots, drums and artillery fire!!!

@vagoperezoso Thanks, finally someone who got that. :) Yes, since they didn't speak English I tried a different take on "foreign language" movie trailers. Wish I had a better, "cleaner" marching soundbyte though :/

Hey man great that you promote this film, but the marching is a bit too long. They made a TV remake and it's so crappy! It lacks all the horror and fear and intensity which made the original what it is! Anyways if you want me to translate anything I may help you if you want to put some more "Die Brücke" stuff on youtube.

Yeah I heard the remake sucked. What a disappointment. Not sure if I'll ever bother seeing the new version. Not sure if I'll put more Die Brücke-stuff here, it was just a spur of the moment thing I did after seeing it on DVD. It really is one of the best WW2-movies ever made. :)

Wars / conflicts suck . Unfortunatly it looks like we humans are stuck with this age old curse . It almost seems that it is a part of our genetic predisposition . It is truly tragic .
