Union Pacific Stack Train, ZNPOA, at Emigrant Gap

Here is a shot I took of the westbound ZNPOA as it comes out of the tunnel in Emigrant Gap, CA. This was the ZNPOA "test train". It was the first ZNPOA ever to go via the Donner route. The double stack trains had switched to the Donner route a few days before I took this shot. The location I'm at is at the west end of the tunnel where the tracks cross under I-80. Emigrant Gap is known more for it's shot with the trains and I-80 below but I thought you would like some tunnel action. You have to hike up a pretty steep hill with some slippery rock from some snow to get here. Hope you enjoy! RATE AND COMMENT ALL VIDEOS!!!!

Exit Emigrant Gap rd. and hike a short but steep hill to the top. I-80 is right above that tunnel so if you find an adequate turnoff you could probably go down.

wow I lived just bellow that tunnel as a kid. And went to the emigrant gap one room school. i miss that place .

I remember there is a road below this side of the tunnel, but never made the hike up there due to lack of time.
