Serene is a woman with a story to tell, and she knows just how to employ color, texture, and shape to her advantage. Every garment in her couture collection could be the wow ensemble, yet employs enough restraint to avoid the costume pitfall. The collection uses fine materials well, honoring both the integrity of the textile and the shape of the woman. One garment of particular strength is the Snow Black ensemble, which conjures the fantasy of regal shapes and fabrics, yet stays fashion forward by allowing the models figure to become part of the look. The train of flowers cascades onto the runway, while a half-cape adds symmetry to the dark ethereal quality of the piece. The contrast of lace with satin is enticing to the eye and augments the complimentary color choices Serene uses.
U.S. Designer Se Sens Serene presented her collection February 14, 2010 in New York at the historic Waldorf Astoria.
