Bing Crosby did this song in quite a country style and it's quite surprising that not many country artists have actually recorded the song. I can only think of Jim Reeves although of course there may be others. I think it's a lovely, meaningful song with great sentiments. Also recorded by Perry Como and Dinah Shore, Marty never cut the song, but if this version is anything to go by it's a great shame he didn't.
Apologies for the sound quality, but there's not much I can do about it, just turn up the volume and enjoy that great voice doing full justice to a wonderful song.

  • Hi Tarquin!again you post a song performed by Marty that I did'nt no or heard before.I know the song of another great singer Gentleman Jim Reeves who is also a favorit of mine,but Marty for me is the greatest of alltime's.Thanks again Tarquin for posting and the best wishes for you and your family.

  • Thanks for your kind comments sir. I have the Reeves version, but Crosby's is the best recorded version in my opinion. Such a pity Marty never actually cut this in a studio..
