  • Will it bother production of the bulb to use the green tops as they grow (I know they REgrow multiple times, bigger & stronger, 'cause I cut/use'em fresh all the time, but I've never grown'em long enough to get BIG bulbs like urs)....

Also, in using them fresh, I have cut & bagged the green tops to use as chives, but when I try to use them from the freezer, they are more rubbery than when fresh-- so I feel like it's wasteful to try & freeze'em now. Any idea what I might be doing wrong there?

  • @TABULOUS1 … If you want to use the tops harvest from the same plants and let the rest grow naturally. That will give you an idea if it affects the growth of the bulb. Anything fresh is better than frozen……Donald

  • @DippinSonOfALee1865 ...from the time you transplant it usually takes about 100 days till harvest. You can trap the squirrels or get a good dog....Donald

  • Love the onion videos. I can't believe the onions got that big in 8-9 weeks. Miracle grow works very good. I have miracle grow soil in my garden which is mixed in to the original soil. I water the plants with fertilizer. I only have two cabbage plants right now because squirrels ate 7 of the cabbage plants and all 6 of the broccoli plants. Those squirrels are pests and tastes great in a gumbo. How do I stop from over fertilization? And do you have any advice on how to keep the squirrels away? I

  • @WizzleThump ... a little triple 13 and they're good to go.........Donald
