MT. HEALTHY, Ohio (WKRC) -- Operation Christmas Child is one of the Tri-State's largest annual toy drives. The program, which begins today, is expected to collect 30,000 filled shoe boxes for needy children around the world this holiday season. Local 12's Adam Clements explains how you can help.Organizers of Operation Christmas Child suggests donations of hats, gloves and essentials. Pens and pencils for school are also suggested. Even something we might take for granted, like toothpaste, is recommended.You're asked to donate $7 for shipping. If you pay that on the Operation Christmas Child website, then you'll get a bar code and you can find out where your shoebox was delivered.The project is collecting shoe boxes through November 25.
