  • I like how certain parts of it sound like they're swung. lol. Amusing. You could do a much better job if you practiced all of them a lot. I'd rather play a handful of them perfectly than half-ass all of them. I wish you the best of luck in your playing!

  • @pianolitguy - I don't think they're really THAT bad. But, you're entitled to your opinion. I, of course, need a lot of work on the pieces that I play but, I only practice them for 4 days and then record. They are just meant to be a base point to start from. Sorry about my past rude comments. I was out of my mind a little bit. Thanks for being honest in your post. :}

  • check out my video of his 28th etude..I liked this one btw

  • plus, you slowed the tempo down. im not impressed

  • check the video response

  • yeah boy!

  • Your ability to make it through this piece at this tempo is quite impressive. I'm stuck around 70-76 on it right now, and what's helping me alot is going back down to about 56-60 and smoothing everything out. It helps me stay relaxed when performing it. I'd recommend you just relaxing. Good work on all 3 pieces though!

  • region 14????!?!?!?!? what town are u from???

  • Actually the etudes for 2008-2009 are 13, 22, and 42. Fortunately, you have all three :D :D

  • I agree.. these are the three etudes I need to learn for district tryouts in November (here in South Texas, region 14) and your videos are helping me get a jumpstart.. especially on etude 42. Thanks :D

  • cool :)

  • Awsome horn! Perfect tone and inflection...

    Wicked cool! Is that a VI?

  • thank you for your kind words. i think this tempo is about what the judges will be expecting but if you can play it a tempo...game over for everyone else. of course you'll need to play it cleaner. this is just what i could muster in about a week. the sad news is that it still needs to be about 10-15 beats faster and my 22 needs to be about 5-10 beats faster. i'll see if i can record them "a tempo." if there is a trick to this piece i would say, think of it as a song of triplets and not 3/4 time.

  • Thank you for posting etudes 17, 22, and 42. These are my TMEA (i think thats the acronym) etudes for all region and I needed a guide of where to be. I wish you were a private lessons teacher because you would be a really good one.
