  • So how long should you use Rogaine until you expect results? I mean, I guess everyone has different effects but if you don't see results after 1 year or 6 months.. should you quit? I also read it only has about a 20% chance of working.

  • @GetTheHook I would say it has a much better than 20% chance of working. I mean, even if the hair doesn't grow back, if if stops getting thinner, then that's a victory. I would use it for a year before quitting. Search Google Scholar for "Topical minoxidil therapy for androgenetic alopecia. A 30-month study." It's an article from a reputable journal and it should answer your questions.

  • Ketoconazole foam can be useful...But ketoconazole shampoo is a problem..

I don't know any clinical studies about ketoconazol shampoo..

  • @SUSSTURUCU Foam I'm sure yes (it has the same ingredient but it's a prescription product) but the shampoo also (which is safer, and because it's safer it's available over the counter). Actually, I mostly hear talk about the shampoo rather than the foam for hair loss. I'm sure others can confirm.

  • @drugcounter And when I say that I mostly hear "talk" about shampoo, that includes clinical studies. Search for "Ketoconazole shampoo: effect of long-term use in androgenic alopecia." on Google Scholar.

  • Are you yourself balding?

  • @Searchinganswers Yep, I think I am. FYI, I am just using Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo as a treatment. No Rogaine. We'll see how that goes.
