Featured on Tori's cover album, Strange Little Girls.

Thirty-five years a showgirl that she admits to, and her feet hurt, day in, day out, from the high heels, but she can walk down steps with a forty-pound headdress in high heels, she's walked across a stage with a lion in high heels, she could walk through goddamn Hell in high heels if it came to that.

These are the things that have helped, that kept her walking and her head high: her daughter; a man from Chicago who loved her, although not enough; the national news anchor who paid her rent for a decade and didn't come to Vegas more than once a month; two bags of silicone gel; and staying out of the desert sun.

She will be a grandmother soon, very soon.

  • Can this woman not sing a single song without the pretentious theatrics? Awful cover.

  • I don't think this cover sucks half as much as a lot of people here are saying. It has a beauty of its own. So many "music lovers" seem only able to distinguish in terms of "liking" or "hating" something. That's just an opinion, nothing more. There is much more to musical understanding than simply knowing what you like/don't like.

  • I like it, very different from the original, like two separate songs. The lyrics being the only thing connecting them.

  • over-theatrical vocal. dislike

  • @FFXIedyn The only thing in common is the words, but the original is really good too. My advice - listen to the Depeche Mode's version too. Both are splendid. :)

  • i did not know this song was a cover when I first heard it - I have yet to even hear the original - i loved this song the first time i heard it - is the original anything like this or only the words the same?

  • @EgoInstinct I agree, except for good voice, this is an insult to Depeche Mode, she's turned a fantastic song into a piece of shit.

  • @widdlepuddyfat Good comeback asshole!
