@Zadeass Seconded. The "They expected a flawless masterpiece" card is played ALL the goddamn time by fans of the Prequels. The problem is it's a pretty lame argument that attempts to dismiss all complaints in one fell swoop. I mean I thought the Planet of the apes prequel was excellent, X-men First Class was a prequel too and it was excellent, so none of them should be giving me this "Oh you hated it because your expectations were too high" bullshit, because it just doesn't hold up.

@xquickstrykex No. They wanted a plot that made sense.

I like the prequels because they had good action. I have no problem with CG, it seems stupid to use puppets these days. But, Lucas has stated that there was A LOT left out when Episodes I and II were released. I liked them, but those movies are the reason I'd rather watch the original trilogy. I don't think Revenge Of The Sith is the best in the series, but it's definitlly the better one in the Prequels.

@xquickstrykex While I'm on the subject, do you even know what you're talking about when you mention unreachable expectations? This is the guy who supposedly wrote the original Star Wars, right? How in the hell is it unreachable to make something that can even come close to the quality of the original trilogy?! I mean have you played knights of the old republic? The story in that game easily captured the magic of the Original Star Wars! And that was a video game!!! it's NOT that damn hard!

@xquickstrykex Okay, I'm sure you'd like to think that because then it makes the prequels seem so much better, but let's not BS, you're just wrong and you're sounding like an apologist. The writing in the prequels is so unbelievably lazy that it's amazing. Honestly, have you even tried to pick apart what's wrong with the prequels? Watch Confused Matthew's reviews, watch Red Letter Media's reviews. Their complaints are not just fair but completely valid no matter what side of the fence you're on.

I loved the prequels(minus Jar Jar Binks). I thought Hayden Christensen wasn't bad either. The problem was the fans' expectations were unreachable, they expected this utter flawless masterpiece and anything short would suck...
i agree a few monthsago i thought episode 3 was as good as the prequels but after i had watched both trilogies back to back i h agree that the prequels are bad and can't even compare to the original trilogy

@attilagoijra54 And that's fine. I have no problem with people who like the prequels. But to put any of them on the same level as the original trilogy is bullshit of the highest order.
