What do you mean by reproof? 19:00
I see two definitions
To rebuke? or To reprove-- to prove again?
Thank you. This is a nice post.

John 14:24 "He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me." Sounds like obedience is required to be justified in the eyes of God. faith is works. Works is faith. both are done by God's life in us which is Grace. Amen

"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." John 5:28, 29

"But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance." Acts 26:20

What makes it necessary to be "saved" to turn your life over to God? I have been "saved", I have also been baptized, and confirmed, I felt nothing from any of these acts. These acts felt like hollow gestures performed by spiritually shallow people. My most spiritual moment came from confessing my sins in front of those I love. Something I did of my own accord. I believe in your faith though. When you discuss the scriptures, it is though you have received the gift of discernment.

Salvation comes when God reveals to us that we are in sin and need Christ. Then we "repent" of our sins and live the life God makes possible through the new Covenant.
This of course has nothing to do with catholicism. And the confession you made sounds like an emotional experience and not a spiritual. Big difference.
Good question. Thank you very much for the comment.
