  • hahahahahah.. working hard to have a good time. not a buzz kill at all

  • @AspiringPotato And btw... "Godwin's Law" is not a silver bullet that wins any argument, it is simply the prediction that any prolonged argument on the Internet will end up with someone accusing the other of being like Hitler, it's so "Youtube" to say "Godwined!!!" >_> The comparison to Hitler could very well be appropriate.

  • @AspiringPotato Good... if people want to benefit from the positive association with Queen's then they should accept and admit the negative association and if they don't like it then fix it.

  • @AspiringPotato You could check it out in the Journal... google (on the Journal) "Blackface" for one example, and if you looked at the original photo posted in the journal you would see that the photo has been cropped apparently to hide the number of people attending the party. Many Queen's students fought the Nazi's and gave their lives, in fact Queen's has quite a roster. But this does not mean that students haven't been acting like freaking brownshirts lately.

  • @Douglas1102

You know it's too bad if certain people at queen's were racist towards their peers or profs or coworkers, what have you. Although I'm white I have many non-white friends and a post-racial mindset, and I don't feel a need to apologize for the racist actions of other white people. I don't feel like I support/enable those actions. If a specific racist comment/incident were brought to my attention I would probably end up condemning it.

  • @Douglas1102

Well I don't like Queen's alive either, I'm just a frosh so I wouldn't have any direct record of the past years. I'm not really sure where you're getting the hitler connection from. Last time I checked people from queen's generally fought for the allies, being Canadian... Might have to invoke "Godwin's Law" And yeah I doubt there's much ideology floating around in the alcohol-saturated event that was filmed...

  • @AspiringPotato When six staff members have quit in the last ten years with similar opinions it's hard to take as "hyperbole"... I would say the comparison is quite apt. If you want ridiculous Hitler comparisons look no further than "Queen's Alive". The last few years have been much better but it's very easy to see why some of Hitler's most fanatical followers were students after moving here.

  • @Douglas1102

Wow, a person quitting a job spouted hyperbole about their now-former workplace. You don't say.

  • @Douglas1102, guess you've never heard of a typo...or got acceptance into Queen's

  • @apotcake13 "Queen's" is a possessive noun... ya friggin' 'tard.
