Greatist Hits 'One night only' in 2000. Anyone remember this? The opener at madison square garden. You wont see many better versions of this song.

  • Check out Dream Theaters version of this song, its just as good. They even do pink floyd covers as good as pink floyd themselves.Check them out" DREAM THEATER"

  • @grassy0 I have the MP3 of dream theaters version and i'd say its different but not better than eltons, alittle too techno without the soul or emotion that goes into it, but still a great listen all the same. I dont know a great deal about dream theater but the lead vocalist was excellent in this rendition, he made love lies bleeding his own. But for me, its elton all the way.

  • Fantastic starter to a truly great album- the first 5 tracks are all absolute classics. Elton's new album The Union, with Leon Russell, is his best since the mid 70s

  • @mizofan 100% agree regarding his new album, without doubt his best material since the mid 70's, probably as far back as 'Madman'

  • Wow! There's still nothing like this one. A cold, desolate opening, an overpowering, anguished blast of synthesizers, and then one crescendo after another until it flies way over the top and winds up in orbit. Still amazing after all these years. Thanks for posting this video!

  • who cares if he is gay, what matters is that he has got one of the biggest hearts that you will ever see in someone that is famous. love the song. thank you for posting it.

    faço parte do povo

  • Elton's band at it's peak - some energy left when John Jorgenson split and the amazing Guy Babylon passing. Have to give credit for Elton to keep the music going - I think some drive within him, must keep the music going - and I am glad, ever so glad for music.

  • ....some songs shouldnt be covered and recorded by other acts..and a good percentage o E. J.s fall into that category. Dream Theater have some material i certainly like...but they best stick to what they do best..... their stuff..E.J. is in class of his own as witnessed by a 40 + year career that few will ever match..and likely not D.T.

  • I could do without the constantly crashing cymbals,, they detract from the beauty of the music

  • harsh cut at the end. otherwise, an incredible, blistering version! was that three drum kits set up? i was looking for nigel, but they mostly showed the other guy(s) and the conga player. davey's a great part of the original 70's GBYBR album and so on. thanks for posting.

  • yes i remember ...and i bought de dvd...excellent ...

  • no doubt one of the most intricate momentious pieces of pop music art ever.......someone else's turn.....the world awaits you..........

  • Pure genius!

  • Please Have Respect for Sir Elton john!!
