Some problems with servo motor. uC reads position from potentiometer and sets theoretically the same position.

  • There is something wrong with your program, or circuit. Check it out using a oscilliscope and the problem should be easy to fix.

  • I have already dealed with this. One problem was with circuit - path of ground was interrupted in one place, there was problem also in readings from potentiometer. But I also have found some bugs in winavr compiler which was hard to analyse.

Now it works perfectly - as it can on servo motor which was not the best choice. If I would start from the beggining I would have though about DC motor.

  • try to put a resistor and help stop shake shake servo

  • check if servo internal potentiometer is messed

  • Check the power supply circuit on your breadboard. AC is on DC. Works a first then if you are using a regulator 7805 or 7812 it is probably getting hot and failing.

  • Stepper motor is better???

Common stepper motor is open loop ??? Servo is powerful and close loop.

  • Try using stepper motors they are a bit tricky, but once you understand them they are very easy to control.
