Dear fellow, you missed the point as far as I can see it. Why have we called GREECE with another odd name "YOUNAN", while the Greeks call their country "GREECE" ? If you'd answer to this question, then you might see my point as well: Have they ever called themselves "YOUNANIAN"???
You wrote, "we were called Persians" .. but you did not mention "who did it"! Is this your "correction"? Please do a little research first because in that case you would be a better friend of mine too! Very grateful!

@PAAPAK00 : Great music. But I wanted to correct something: "Parsi" is the name of our language and the name of the ancient cultural capital of Iran (Pars province). It's NOT something the Greeks invented. Persian = Pars + ian (from Persia). To people outside of Iran, we were called Persians because that was the most famous province of Iran. To people inside of Iran, we were called Iranians (Irooni).

Zene vi Lor o Loreso!
Berarem, KURDS are also our fellow countrymen and we love them as well. Maybe some of the Kurds say strange things but we should never use bad words towards them. Persians, Lors, Kurds, Mazandarani, Gilani, Azari .. are all dear and precious for all of Iranians. WE ARE IRANIANS AND IRAN HAS BEEN OUR HOMELAND FOR AT LEAST 3000 OF YEARS. - WE NEED TO LEARN MORE AND LOVE MORE .... Kurdish culture, Lori culture, Persian culture, Gilani & Azari cuture are all belonged to IRAN.

@PAAPAK00 : We (Iranians) named our language "Parsi" (پارسی ); We Iranians named our ancient seat of government and province "Pars" (پارس ); We Iranians named cities like Parsabad (پارس آباد : 'city of Persians') [by the way, Parsabad still exists - check a map and the name .. it's the most Northern city in all of Iran]... The "Greeks" didn't do this. The etymological root of "Persian" (پارسیان) is uniquely Iranian, not Greek, Chinese, or anything else. I'm afraid you missed my point.
