Doing regular preventive inspection on a grain bin. Before filling it is a good idea to inspect the grain already in the bin to check fro problems. If there is a hot spot it is easily detected by walking on top of the grain with the fan running.

Before entering a bin, ALWAYS lock out the unload controls to prevent an accident!!!

Thanks! While I do read all the comments people leave on my videos, only a few have stuck with me and your suggestion was one of those. Thanks for the tip and the kind words.

  • cool, how did you get up in it though?

  • @PeZAiSahUnTEr

Magic! Also there is a ladder up the outside to a door in the roof and a ladder down the inside as well.

  • You've just answered a lifelong fascination about what's it really like inside a grain silo. Honestly, I'd love to see a video (or short series) describing the process start to finish. There are plenty of great vids on things such as "how textiles are made" and so on, but nothing that really describes the farming process (or portions of it even). Anyway, nice video.

  • What causes hot spots? What are the consequences?

  • nice video the elevator a round my grandpa's place they where drying beans and it started on fire from a bean pod

  • a very interesting video of your work and operation thanks for posting

  • the side. However, it was mostly on the northwest side. Have you ever had any trouble with this, and if so how did you fix it? Thanks

  • Hey there nice vid. I was just wondering if you've ever had any trouble with corn sticking to your walls. This year we filled one bin up, dried all the corn down, and then moved it to another bin. The bin with the dried/transferred corn was perfectly fine when we unloaded it(nothing sticking). However, the other bin we filled back up, dried it down, and when we hauled to the elevator the last month, when we got down to the bottom about a foot off the floor to about five feet up it was stuck to

  • @Farmerknowsbest Thanks just trying to help
