This is a short 37 second clip of the "Beta 1" version of the new R30 reflector light bulb developed and manufactured by Vu1 Corp being turned on and off. It is a demonstration of the early prototype of Vu1's R30 that wasn't released to the public. The newer, improved "Generation 2" bulb will be available to the public by the end of March and can be ordered from either Vu1's website or through Destination Lighting's website:

This bulb is highly energy efficient; does not contain mercury, as do CFLs, or any other toxic materials (trash can safe); lasts 10,000 hours; is fully dimmable; has a smaller "carbon footprint" than any other energy efficient lighting; has a Power Factor of 0.99; and lists for about a third of the price of a comparable R30 LED reflector bulb ($19.95). (The truth is, you'd be hard pressed to find a 65 watt equivalent R30 "spot" light using LED technology for under $70.00).
Vu1offers clean light priced right. They will have a huge impact on the future of the lighting industry.
Woaahh... what a light power...
