STRENGTH AND HONOUR tells the story of an Irish-American boxer, Sean Kelleher (Michael Madsen), who accidentally kills his friend in the ring and promises his wife that he will never box again. However, years later, when he discovers that his only son is dying of the same hereditary heart disorder which has taken his wife, he is forced to break his promise in order to raise the substantial funds needed for the surgery that could save his son's life.

STRENGTH AND HONOUR is a human drama of love and friendship, sacrifice and devotion, set against the violent underground world of bare-knuckle boxing.

by the way what's with all the nastiness and racism. It's a film, okay. Not great acting or anything but just a bit of escapism. God's sake vent your anger on something worthwhile. Madsen still rocks.

this was filmed in my village, and i met Michael Madsen and he KISSED me. Swoon,. Six foot two of pure man. I haven't been the same since. He was gorg and charming and not a bit "tough guy in reality.  A real down to earth hunk. Swoon again.

This was filmed around where I live, most of the extras are from my local boxing club. An alright film, but Vinnie Jones does a terrible accent!!
