"Letter to Tom Cruise" is Gerschweyn Matthews' first international release, lead single and film short for the "Die Probleem met Picasso" short album and short film project. A psychologist agrees to aid a young boy struggling with the suicide of his father. The boy, nicknamed Picasso blames the American actor Tom Cruise and the Scientology movement for the untimely death. Together the child and his therapist work through a series of dark and disturbing psychoanalytical sessions so as to uncover the reasoning behind Picasso's bizarre claim and some how steer the troubled boy away from pending social osterization and delinquency. "Letter to Tom Cruise" has recently been short listed for screening at the International New York and LA Film and Video Festivals (Fall and Spring 2009-2010 Season).
