Kroger Store - Wayne, Michigan

I love retail history, so any time I pass through a town, I like to sneak some video of the local grocery store. This Kroger caught my eye, with its definite 60's-70's outdoor sign. Inside, it was a small grocery store that reminded me of growing up in the 1970's. Very cool. Located in Wayne, Michigan, on the way to Detroit.

My mom has been shopping at this Kroger since before I was born...she insists, even though I have told her about my nice modern updated Kroger thats only a couple miles away. Although, like a few people said it IS known as the "Ghetto Kroger" around here(with good reason), it is still employing people and as long as people still shop there it is a great thing, the last thing we need is more stores closing.

This looks like the Kroger on Allen and West Road's in Woodhaven. The store in Woodhaven has 4 regular checkouts and 4 U-Scan's though.

They have the updated Checkout- Light up lane signs, but the isle signs are probably from the 80's. I know quite a few Kroger stores in small towns that have about 5 isles and 3 checkout's and no u-scans!!
