Yes, "some" plants do need very high humidity and would need something like a terrarium to survive, otherwise, MOST common houseplants adjust to the low indoor humidity and do very well. I have over a hundred plants, two of which are boston ferns and neither need any extra humidity like some books would have you believe. The are lush, green and happy.
