Forging Empowered Communities is a video documentation of the good practices and lessons learned from the Phase 1 of the project: "Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation for Typhoon-Prone Philippine Regions".
This video is produced by the Citizens' Disaster Response Center (CDRC), a non-government organization that pioneered and continues to promote community-based disaster management in the Philippines. This project is in partnership with the Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and the German Federal Foreign Office, together with the regional centers in the Citizens' Disaster Response Network, namely: the Southern Tagalog People's Response Center (STPRC), Tarabang Para sa Bicol, Inc. (TABI), Leyte Center for Development, Inc. (LCDE), Bread for Emergency Assistance and Development (BREAD), Center for Relief and Rehabilitation Services - Cagayan Valley (CRRS-CV) and the Alay Bayan, Inc. (ABI). It is dedicated to individuals, organizations, agencies and communities which have offered time, effort and resources to help vulnerable sectors help themselves in the face of disaster.
