I know its a late comment. (really late) the point is to avoid damage by spinning along with it. The second part of the technique is to be able to land without hurting yourself and get out of harms way.

this may be choreographed but its one of the best like it that show techniques that can be used in a real fight - head butts and lightning fast kicks [not slow predictable ones]-very practical techniques. Nice post!

Yehh..... this is choreographed not fighting to the death like in mortal kombat....Real fights are never this smooth. and its pretty easy to see there setting each other up

this was a competition in the 1950s-1960s. it was called ALL CHINA tournament, but people outside of china was allowed to join as well. it was a DEATHMATCH COMPETITION. the fighters fight to their death. much like MORTAL KOMBAT. in fact, i believe that MORTAL KOMBAT got the idea from this competition.
