2000 Years and Counting

Jesus' "this generation" second coming proclamation was fulfilled right on time in the fall of Jerusalem in 70AD. This is the Presterist view of eschatology. No other view effectively synthesizes the "time statements" of "soon", "near", "at hand", and "in a very little while". All Scripture is inspired by God and it therefore must be interpreted in the context in which it was given. Only through paradigm based upon faulty presuppositions force "soon" to be far off and "at hand" to be 2,000 years and counting.

When Jesus returns all eyes are going to see Him, the man of sin hasnt been revealed yet. God isnt on our time, he can say "shortly." The bible says satan has but a short time. 1 million years is short compared to eternity. When Jesus said this generation he was speaking of the generation that will see what he was prophesying of. This generation (whichever it is) wont pass til this happens. consider the language culture and time. Prophecies are still becoming fulfilled today. God bless you all

@chucky55122 Chucky, familiarize yourself with Deut 18:18-22. There is no way to test a prophet's veracity if time is ignored. Of course time is a relevant factor. Reread Matthew 24:34. It doesn't say anything about the generation that sees the signs. Trace every usage in the NT of "this generation". In EVERY instance without exception, it refers specifically to the generation to which it was spoken. "Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon THIS GENERATION." (Mt 23:36).

@chucky55122 And please read Rev 1:7 in it's entirety. "BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, that is those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth [ge=land] will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. "Those who pierced him" have been dead almost 2,000 years and the tribes of the land were destroyed in the Jewish war from 67-70 AD. All in the context of Rev 1:1 "..., which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which MUST SOON TAKE PLACE."
