I work for AE, and it depends on the cut and style of the jeans. Ex. Skinny jeans or leggings go up a size. The artist jeans(best ever) are bigger in the waist. Shirts are true to size.

@Roryinthesky i'm not exactly sure, but you should go in and try some on and see what fits best! you might be a size 4 in pants, but that's just from what i read on yahoo answers haha, good luck doll! xoxo

@Roryinthesky if you have ever tried on jeans at walmart or garage & you're size 5 in those then you would be a size 2 in A.E .

at least thats how it is for me ... the best thing to do would be to go to American Eagle & try on different sizes :) .
