Distinguished Eagle Scout Award

The Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America, upon the approval of the National Eagle Scout Association, has the distinction and privilege to bestow the rank and honor of Distinguished Eagle Scout on S. Alan Ray, President of Elmhurst College. The Distinguished Eagle Scout Award (DESA) is granted to Eagle Scouts who, after 25 years, have distinguished themselves in their life work and who have shared their talents with their communities on a voluntary basis. Dr. Ray has dedicated his life to academia, teaching young people, supporting the HIV/AIDS communities, and performing distinguished service to Native American communi-ties, especially to the Cherokee Nation of which he is a citizen.
