NEW DETAILS ABOUT WHAT LED TO DEMI MOORE'S HOSPITALIZATION HAVE BEEN REVEALED IN A 911 CALL RELEASED BY THE LA CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT.

ON THE CALL, A FEMALE CALLER TELLS THE OPERATOR THAT DEMI QUOTE. "SMOKED SOMETHING. NOT MARIJUANA, BUT SOMETHING SIMILAR TO IT, SIMILAR TO INCENSE."

SHE GOES ON TO SAY THAT DEMI WAS HAVING CONVULSIONS SAYING, "SHE'S SEMI- CONSCIOUS, BARELY. SHE'S CONVULSING, SHE'S SHAKING, CONVULSING, BURNING UP.

AT ONE POINT, THE WOMAN IS HEARD SAYING, "DEMI, CAN YOU HEAR ME? YES, SHE'S SQUEEZING MY HAND. SHE CAN'T SPEAK."

SEVERAL PARTS OF THE TAPE WERE NOT RELEASED TO PROTECT DEMI'S PRIVACY, ALTHOUGH SOURCES TELL TMZ THE CALLER REFERENCED SPECIFIC DRUGS AND OTHER SUBSTANCES THE ACTRESS HAD TAKEN THAT EVENING.

MULTIPLE REPORTS THIS WEEK HAVE SUGGESTED DEMI HAD BEEN INHALING DANGEROUS NITROUS OXIDE -- AKA WHIP-ITS, DRINKING CAN AFTER CAN OF RED BULL, STARVING HERSELF AND INDULGING A REPORTED ADDICTION TO ADDERALL.

MEANWHILE ASHTON KUTCHER RETURNED TO LOS ANGELES THURSDAY NIGHT AFTER A WEEK OF PARTYING IN BRAZIL, RIGHT AROUND THE TIME DEMI WAS REPORTEDLY RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL.
