Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Rainbow Dash Edition hack 20% cooler - HACK UPDATED

Hi everypony, VERSION 2 OF HACK NOW AVAILABLE^^
(GAME HACK UPDATED TO SONIC 3 AND KNUCKLES CARTRIDGE)

This video shows Rainbow in many of the new levels not found in the previously posted version.

Improvements over first version I posted to Youtube:-
* Many more levels (shown here ^^)
* SUPER RAINBOW DASH!!! (separate video posted)
* Rainbow does her 3D special stages now(separate video posted)
* End of level signs changed to show Rainbow Dash and name in descriptions changed to Dash
* Some sprites/animations improved
* New Title screen graphic
* New continue animation

Rainbow Dash can fight Robotnic and save the day!

I present here for your viewing pleasure "Sonic the hedgehog 3 (& Knuckles) Rainbow Dash Edition"

For fun I hacked Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles on Sega Megadrive (Genesis for those of you in USA) so that instead of Tails you play as Rainbow Dash from the awesome My Little Pony Friendship is Magic show. I changed ALL 200+ sprites used during the main levels to Rainbow Dash.

I do realise it has minor graphic glitches but I tried my best and kept those to a minimum.

The video was taken with the game running in Gens emulator with the 2xSAI screen filter on to make game and Rainbow Dash look pretty. I recommend both for playing the game.

Note this is an IPS patch file and you will require to obtain the original game rom to patch it with this file to play. I have done this for two reasons. One is that you can use my patch in theory on various versions of this game rom that exist. Second reason is so sega don't have any reason to want to sue me ^^ For those of you unfamiliar how to use an IPS patch file I have tried to write a guide that is enclosed within the zip file.

@Funkermonster I'll let you in on a secret. I just finished the Fluttershy version of this hack where I redrew every sprite one by one and all the graphics of Rainbow to be Fluttershy instead... exepect to see it soon once I get a new video made...

@MaskedManiac225 Many things look a bit awkward. It's because I couldn't figure out how to change the way the tails are placed and animated (oftren just being mirrored). I did my best with what I had ^^

I think I may be doing this wrong, but when I play it regularly on an emulator, all the textures get screwed up. And when I went Super as Rainbow Dash, the game reset itself to the title screen. >_<

@Coolblue3680 Good news I changed it to run in Fusion. In fact on any decent emulator on any machine. Draw back is sprites for Knuckes in competition mode are corrupted. If you want to play that can always use official rom. It's no big loss ^^

@jdragondawn wow thats awesome, and the best part is that you can use the normal birds for Super Fluttershy and it will fit perfectly. the only problem is that fluttershy is already yellow xD

Could be better if sprite animations had more sitting and less flying.
