The Easter Seals telethon ran on 33 until 1997.

There was a snippet of a promo for a show called "The Crusaders", which ran Tuesdays at 10PM on 33. That aired in place of "NYPD Blue".

After 1997, the National Easter Seal Telethon was discontinued by the National Easter Seal Society.

What was that at the beginning? Was it an ABC promo? (If it was, that would explain the Channel 33 bug at the bottom of the picture.)

Melanie Pantelas. There's a name I haven't heard in ages. (By the way, Pantelas moved to WKYC a few years later. I am not sure where she is now.)

WYTV followed suit with a couple of other ABC stations by not airing "NYPD Blue" in its Tuesday slot. It's like when ABC first launched "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in 2003, although many more stations declined to pick up the show because people didn't like Jimmy.
