Tie Dye is an aged dyeing technique for textiles and is prevailed with full-bodied folk arts features. Patterns made through this technique are diverse in style and are shrouded in astonishing artistic charm. The Tie Dye technique falls into 2 parts of Tie and Dye. The main purpose of the first part is to bind, secure and shape textiles for dyeing. Color of the tied section remain the same but that of the untied section changes according to dye. As for patterns formed following dyeing, they can be either regular, complicated or specific such as star, spiral, rays, ripples, lines, waves and dots etc.
