Ive progressed through the system, so I know what its like to be a student and a resident and a fellow and then a junior faculty member, and a division leader and chair and professor and dean and now CEO of a medical center.

So Ive worked in the trenches in the OR, in the clinic, in the delivery room firsthand, and have that direct hands-on experience. And I know the challenges that people face every day as they try to deliver the best care to their patients. The bureaucracy they may have to deal with, the administrative hurdles they have to jump over, the shortages in staffing and equipment they may have to face as they try to provide the best care for their patients day to day because thats what its all about providing the best care for our patients.
