@triton4242 You can use an Joystick emulator, but since this post is 2 years old i guess you already have a solution for that...

why not to perform a position averaging? otherwise cursors looks very shaky and will cause fatigue very soon
Damn, so many "experiments" around and no single commercial robust solution to plug to my webcam and start using it right away?!... strange
It's 21st century and we still mass ship this ancient technology out?

@triton4242 ahhh that makes sense

Thats how we look, always sort of "scanning" over objects. It still could be very effective for FPS, because we can move our eyes a lot faster than our hands. You see someone walk into view, eye sort of automaticly pinpoints it. Using Hands its a lot more "processing" Seeing the guy, decide to aim at him, send nerve impulses to the hand, constantly verifying that the movement of the cursor is in sync with the muscle movement, adjusting etc. Also your hand has higher "ping" than your eyes.

the curser is like everywhere, so fucked up. there is no way u can play fist person shooter with this. lol if the guy just stand still u will never hit him

it looks fake to me

@Anim8or93 - you are right, the eyes only control the motion, the 'click' is still done by hand (not blinking or anything like that).

can this be done via Matlab?
wasilqayyum 4 years ago
Sort of, it was originally developed in Matlab, but Matlab is very slow and can only work on offline data. Porting it to C++ was required to operate in real time.

It's a custom research system at this point, we'd really like to try it out with FPS games but haven't figured out how hack into a game just yet.. thanks for the feedback..
