Our devon rex brothers Pantse and Bitti are bird watching. We were having breakfast and they decided to enjoy the lovely crisp Saturday morning with us. On the morning newspaper, of course.

  • I'm not gonna argue, and I do think everyone is entitled to their opinion, but my devon rex does go out. I'm not saying I disagree with anyone.

Plus my cat does bird watching too :D

  • @1998 shewolf This is Finland. So all animals have.

  • They are not show cats, never been in any shows and never will be. They are part of the family. Devon rexes sometimes don't have whiskers, and if they do, they are curly.

I think you don't know anything about this breed... devons are not shy, quite the opposite. They are extremely friendly and curious.

  • Devon Rexes are not recommended for outside. They are too curious, too fast and too risky. Besides they trust strangers too much. Although, we let our girl to go outside from time to time, but under strict supervision. Anyway she is a true Devon Rex, loves human company and quite happy to stay inside with us.

  • I have a devon rex and I agree you can't let such a cat go outside. Where a cat is typically scared they are teased. They're a danger to themselves in the wild. LOL Too crazy. I live in SW FL and when I take him out on a leash, he wants to go play with birds and once went crazy enthusiastic when we spotted a gator in the lake near our home! If he went outdoors on his own, he would last a good ten minutes. LOL

  • @soomooju luckily we dont have gators in the suburbs

  • @rubbaduckgurl27 You DO realize that ANY cat on it's own outside is in a HUGE risk of numerous dangers?? Never let your cat outside freely. Cats can go out in a leash, just teach them from early on.

  • Seeing this reminds me of my parents' 3 Devons which they had over a 20 year span (2 of them looked exactly like these 2 fellas).

They had huge personalities, were completely bonkers + naieve and also incredibly affectionate (in 20 years I didn't hear a single growl or hiss).

If I was to ever get a cat I'd get a Devon, if you like cats I guarantee you'd fall in love with one if you ever owned one.

  • I just rescued one of these cats from my local MSPCA..hes 5 years old...and my new best friend...I love this breed so much....They truly adore being petted and they love there owners unlike any other cat I have have seen......There very special and recommend them to anyone...

  • I have a devon rex

  • love it! our devons used to watch birds like this!

they also only ever went outside when we were at home and rarely went out of the garden. lovely cats!
