Bass culture is a great read although I have heard reports from other reggae authors that it is not always factually accurate. Some other books you should read if you have not already are Marc Griffiths 'Boss Sounds' and Michael DeKonigh's Young Gifted & Black: The Story of Trojan Records and Steve Barrow's Rough Guide To Reggae. Good luck!

I agree with jahbuzz! Young, Gifted and Black is an awesome book and the Rough guide is a true gem and both of them are pretty cheap and easy to find.... But i never had a chance to read Boss Sounds... everytime I looked for it the price was too high....
