Wab Kinew - Feb 5th

Performer, Wab Kinew dropped by the Streetz studio for the February 5th edition of "The Word" with Winnipeg Jules. Not only is Wab an artist but he's also a CBC radio producer/host based here in Winnipeg. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and has acquired training in the traditional Medicine ways of his Anishinaabe people.
In 2009 he released his debut solo album "Live By The Drum" through a joint venture between Strongfront Productions and his own company Indie Ends Productions, with the support from Manitoba Film & Music.
He grew up hearing both the traditional pow-wow drum of the Anishinaabe and the rugged sound of hip hop culture; he believes that music can be used to bridge any cultural gap.
